The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the true, inspired, and inerrant Word of God.  That it is the complete word and we are not at liberty to add to nor subtract from the Bible.

God the Father

We believe that God, the Father Almighty, created the heavens and the earth, and the first people Adam and Eve. We believe that Adam and Eve, following the deception of Satan, a fallen angel, rebelled or sinned against their Creator. In doing so, they broke the perfect relationship with God and each other thus falling into a state of sin. This broken relationship with God was passed on to their descendants which we call Original Sin.

Sin

Because of this sinful nature, all people are totally depraved and inwardly focused. People are always serving themselves first. Following our own wants and needs before serving God or our neighbor. We call these self-serving acts "sin". Due to our total inwardly focused nature, our relationship with God, our Creator has been broken, and there is no way for people to restore this relationship. However, God promised Eve that one of her descendants would overcome Satan, and free people from their sin and its punishment.

God the Son

We believe that God in order to restore this broken relationship out of His Divine Love, lowered Himself to become a man. We know this man to be Jesus of Nazareth. We call him, the only Son of God, the Messiah or Christ, which means Savior.

During his life on earth, Jesus lived a life without sin before God and man. However, he allowed himself to be crucified in order to suffer the punishment of sin which every human deserves. On the first Easter Sunday, Jesus rose from the dead; freeing all who believe in Him from the punishment of their sin, which is eternal death. Jesus will come again to judge, to look for faith in him, all people. All people who have been found to have faith in him, either the promise that he would come or the belief that he had come, will be given eternal live with him in a new a perfect Heaven and Earth. Those who have rejected Jesus and God's promise of a Savior will be eternally separated from God, in the outer darkness we call Hell.

God the Holy Spirit

We believe that God and Jesus send forth their Holy Spirit, called the Comforter, to call people to faith in Jesus thus delivering them from sin and death, we call this God's Grace. God's Grace is delivered to people in several ways. First through the Word of God, which we call the Bible or Holy Scriptures. In these words, both read and preached, God delivers the Good News (Gospel) the people have been made right with God, through His Son, Jesus. God also calls people to himself through other means, which we call the sacraments (sacred acts). Through Baptism and the Lord's Supper, God delivers the forgiveness of sins and faith to His people.

The Church

We believe it is the joy and privilege of the Church to deliver these gifts of God's Grace to His people and the world. And the members of Redeemer Lutheran Church gather around God's gifts each week, knowing that we are not perfect, nor can we ever be by ourselves. But rejoicing in God's abundant forgiveness in His Son, Jesus.
